Americans aren’t shy about spouting off about things if which they know shit all. So there’s that. The level of belligerent, entrenched ignorance and outright stupidity exhibited by MAGA is deeply troubling and depressing.

Re the cost of the World Cup. Probably most Americans can’t afford it either altho fewer of them are quite as invested. But I would say that most Americans are on some spectrum that I would describe as “the working poor” to the nose above water strivers. In short, most Americans work pretty hard and have very little to show for it. 😢 They can’t afford those prices either. Those are oligarch and oligarch-wanna-be prices.

Re the RV, it wouldn’t be for me because I hate the size of those things. I struggled once, long ago, to drive an Econoline van without ripping off the side mirrors. I’m old now and wouldn’t try it. You sre young and already adventurous enough to assay driving on the other side of the street. (That has kept me from enjoying driving in the UK when I visited because I am sure I would kill myself and/or others. Also, it could be a hassle finding hook ups (which you also have to pay for) and those things are gas hogs. Oh and, up in Massachusetts, driving those behemoths might be like driving a bus in Cornwall: a tight squeeze.

Finally, I prefer the east coast of Florida to the west coast because I like the waves.

Hey Tamara, great points - it’s easy to forget when talking about this subject that we are not talking about everyone in these conversations. And indeed, certainly not me either. The RV thing, I’m certainly considering it 😅 All the best, Shaun
